“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Every farmer understands that there is a Season Of Harvest and realizes that harvest does not come immediately after planting. There is a season for preparing the soil, sowing the seed, watering faithfully, removing weeds, and patiently waiting. Only then does the harvest arrive.
The Christian life follows the same principle.
Many believers become discouraged because they do not immediately see the results of their prayers, service, obedience, or faithfulness. They wonder if their labor has been in vain. Yet God assures us that every act of obedience, every prayer offered in faith, every seed sown in love, and every sacrifice made for His Kingdom is seen by Him.
God’s harvest is never determined by our timetable but by His perfect timing.
The waiting may be long, but the harvest is certain for those who remain faithful.
1. Every Seed Matters
God has entrusted each believer with opportunities to sow seeds every day.
We sow seeds by:
- Sharing the Gospel.
- Serving others with humility.
- Showing kindness.
- Giving generously.
- Speaking words of encouragement.
- Living lives that reflect Christ.
Every seed may seem small, but God specializes in producing extraordinary harvests from simple acts of obedience.
Jesus said:
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed…”
Matthew 13:31
Never underestimate what God can do through your faithful obedience.
A single seed planted in faith can impact generations.
2. The Harvest Requires Patience
One of the greatest temptations during a season of growth is giving up too soon. Consider this: you are standing on the dock, waiting for the ship carrying your greatest blessing. Impatient, you leave the dock, and the gate closes behind you, leaving no way back. As you turn around and see the ship on the horizon, the blessing you needed most slips away because the Captain needed to find you waiting on the dock before anchoring there.
Galatians 6:9 reminds us:
”…do not grow weary while doing good…”
Weariness often comes when results seem delayed.
We pray…We serve…We give…We trust…
Yet nothing appears to change.
But beneath the surface, God is working.
Just as roots develop long before fruit appears, God is accomplishing things we cannot yet see.
Faith continues planting even when the harvest is not yet visible.
Patience is faith stretched over time.
3. God Brings the Increase
Paul reminds us:
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.”
1 Corinthians 3:6
We are responsible for faithfulness.
God is responsible for fruitfulness.
Sometimes we become discouraged because we try to carry responsibilities that belong to God.
We cannot force growth. We cannot manufacture revival. We cannot produce spiritual fruit apart from Him.
Our responsibility is simple:
Remain faithful.
God promises that in His perfect season, the harvest will come.
The harvest may include:
- Lives transformed by the Gospel.
- Families restored.
- Spiritual maturity.
- New opportunities.
- Kingdom influence.
- Eternal rewards.
God never forgets faithful labor.
Every seed planted for His glory has eternal value.
Conclusion
Every season has its purpose. There is a time to plant. There is a time to water. There is a time to wait. And there is a time to harvest.
Do not allow temporary discouragement to rob you of tomorrow’s blessing.
Remain faithful. Keep praying. Keep planning. And then proceed through your obedience.
Your harvest is coming because God always keeps His promises.
The faithful sower will one day rejoice with the faithful reaper.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding us that every seed planted in faith has eternal significance. Help us never become discouraged when we cannot immediately see the results of our obedience. Strengthen us to remain faithful in serving, giving, praying, and sharing Your love with others.
Teach us to trust Your timing rather than our own expectations. Fill us with patience as we wait upon the harvest You have promised. May our lives continually bear fruit that glorifies Jesus Christ and advances Your Kingdom.
Thank You for the assurance that You alone bring the increase. Help us to labor faithfully until the day we see the harvest You have prepared.
