Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks
receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door
will be opened. [I]
Prayer with expectation requires genuine faith, boldness, and
confidence. When we believe that God is capable of doing what He
says, we can trust and expect an answer to our prayers. In Jeremiah
29:11, God declares. ‘For I know the plans I have for you, plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future.’ Even when we feel discouraged to the point of giving up, we need to hold onto our faith, for God will make a way where we think
there is no way. He will provide the strength required for that specific
trial and tribulation. Isaiah 26:3 says, ‘You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast because he trusts in you.’
We need to stand firm and well-grounded in what we believe because
all the promises of God are trustworthy. God is always on time. A
woman once told me, ‘God’s clock is not our clock, neither are our
clocks God’s clock’ Waiting for God’s timing is crucial. God knows
exactly when to answer our prayers. We need to be still. Psalms 34:15
says, The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are
attentive to their cry.’ We must speak up, cry out to God, for He is
listening. Llke a newborn who cries when feeling discomfort to draw
attention to themselves, we draw the attention of our Abba Father to
ourselves in times of need.
Let us come boldly and with a humble heart to the throne of grace and ask God to help us. Jesus said, ‘Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock. and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks the door will be opened.’ Always expect that something good is about to happen, even when there is no change in our situation at that moment because the Bible says the righteous live by faith, not by sight. Faith does not demand details or explanations; it just keeps
moving forward, believing God for the right result. You need not only
to hold up but also to speak up and look up because God is capable.
Hebrew 12:2 says, ‘Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and the
perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the
cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the
throne of God.’
We need to have the right focus because Jesus has already done it all
for us. When we fix our eyes on Jesus, not on the problem, we find
peace and hope. We can truly stop doubting, stop worrying, and trust
God. While waiting, let us create a positive attitude around us, for we
know in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who
have been called according to his purpose.
We have the power of the Holy Spirit within us to find strength and
encourage us in the process of waiting. Psalms 5:3 says, ‘In the
morning, I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.’ Let us
trust the Lord and always pray with great expectation. May the favor
of the Lord and His blessings overflow us as long as we live.
