🌟 Week Eight: by Rev. Keith Howard
Core Belief: Jesus will physically return to Earth.
Scripture:
“For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16 (ESV)
Devotional Thought:
The Second Coming of Jesus is not a distant myth—it is the blessed hope of every believer. The same Jesus who ascended into heaven will return in glory to complete God’s redemptive plan. This truth reminds us that history is not spiraling out of control; it’s moving toward a divine conclusion where Christ reigns as King of kings.
In a world filled with chaos, injustice, and uncertainty, the promise of Jesus’ return anchors our faith. His coming will bring restoration to creation, justice to the nations, and joy to those who have trusted in Him. Until that glorious day, we are called to live expectantly—walking in holiness, serving with purpose, and sharing the good news with urgency.
The Second Coming motivates us to look up in hope and to look around in love. The Bridegroom is coming soon. Let our lamps be burning bright.
Reflection:
- Am I living each day ready for Christ’s return?
- How can I reflect His light to others until He comes again?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise of Your return. Help me to live with hope, faith, and expectation. Keep my heart steadfast, my life holy, and my witness strong. Come, Lord Jesus—let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Key Verse to Remember:
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!” — Revelation 22:20
