Faith Into Action

By Solange Rodnez

Mark 4:40 – Jesus said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

In my Christian journey, I often feel that Jesus is asking me the same question. There are seasons in life when uncertainty overwhelms me, and I have no clue what the outcome will be. Even though I know what the Lord can do I sometimes allow my feelings and emotions to dictate my faith. The disciples experienced the same struggle. Despite walking with Jesus and witnessing His miracles, they stumbledl in fear when the storm raged. Yet, thank God for His love and patience-He did not reject them. He understands our weaknesses and failures and is always ready to help us return to Him in faith. Psalm 73:26 assures us, “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” We must guard our thoughts, as the enemy seeks to plant doubt and fear in our minds. Jesus warns in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” When we meditate on God’s Word, seek His will, and walk in His ways, we have no reason to fear the challenges of life. Our first response to trouble should always be prayer. Psalm 34:4-5 encourages us: “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” When we don’t know what to do in times of trouble, we must run to God, who has every solution.

Throughout the Bible, God reminds us to be strong and courageous, not to be afraid or troubled, and not to rely on our own understanding. He calls us to trust Him completely. When we put our faith into action, we pursue God with our whole life and experience His peace even in the middle of turmoil. Nothing is too hard for God-we simply need to have faith in Him. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see:· Verse 6 further explains that “without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

Let us surrender to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to teach us how to remain strong in faith, how to develop endurance, perseverance, and resilience in every situation. We must remember that God is involved in every detail of our lives and that He never fails in His promises. May the same spirit of faith that Jesus had in His Father be implanted in us, so that we too can walk confidently with God. Mark 9:23 reminds us, “Everything is possible for one who believes.” Faith is about knowing the authority of God and trusting in His undivided love for His children. We trust Him because of who He is, not just because of what He provides. We come to Him humbly with all our cares, knowing that He cares for us. None of us wants to hear Jesus say, “Why are you so afraid?” Instead, we long to hear, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” Therefore, let us strengthen our minds, remain sober in hope, and walk forward in faith and confidence toward the prize God has in store for us. With our heads held high, our shoulders squared, our eyes fixed on Christ, our minds focused, and our feet firmly planted on the Rock, we can stand strong in our faith. As we experience God’s love and goodness, our faith grows, building our strength, peace, and joy. We live by faith, not by sight, because “what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” Let us choose to live each day in faith, relying on God’s power to renew our minds as we fix our eyes on His eternal promises. God loves us and will always deliver us from fear. In Him, we have hope for a better life. Glory and praise be to our God.
