Scripture Reading

Mark 1:35 – “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place where He prayed.”

This verse serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of setting time apart to be in God’s presence. In the midst of our daily routines, we must prioritize moments to praise Him, worship Him, seek His direction, and meditate on His Word. Through Bible study, memorization, meditation, and the application of His teachings, we grow spiritually and align ourselves with His will.

Time alone with God is a sacred moment, reseived for you and Him alone. The indwelling Holy Spirit within you merges with your spirit, deepening your connection with God. In these quiet moments, He teaches you His will, virtues, character, power, love, compassion, and faithfulness. The more time you dedicate to God, the more you grow in wisdom and spiritual maturity. No longer a baby Christian, dependent only on spiritual milk, you become ready for solid food, strengthening your faith and understanding of God’s ways. Jesus Himself spent time alone with the Father before beginning His daily assignments, setting an example for us to follow. By doing the same, we gain clarity in our faith and develop the ability to live a life that pleases Him.

However, we live in a world full of distractions, making it difficult to focus entirely on God. This is why we need the mind of Christ to help us still our thoughts and surrender fully to Him. Matthew 6:33 teaches us, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you.” God must come first in every aspect of our lives. When we understand His divine priority, we experience His presence in ways that transform us.

Spending time alone with God is an incredible privilege. We are invited into intimacy with the Creator of the universe, the King of Kings, and our Abba Father. Zephaniah 3:17 reminds us, “The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” If God Himself desires to spend time with us, what is stopping us from worshiping Him in spirit and in truth?

Time alone with God provides security, certainty, and peace, even in the middle of chaos. One morning, while praying over my concerns, I heard the whispering voice of the Holy Spirit through Proverbs 3:5-6,

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path straight.” I also heard these comforting words: “The whole universe is in the palm of My hand. I will never miss a single detail-just trust Me. As a mother duck teaches her ducklings, so I am teaching you the facts of life. Do not take anything for granted, but be grateful for all you have.” That day, my heart was overwhelmed with joy, knowing that my Father was assuring me of His care and  sovereignty.

Brothers and sisters, let us prioritize what truly matters. If Jesus, who is God Himself, made time alone with the Father a priority, then we should do the same. Treasure your time with God and allow His presence to bless you with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

As your relationship with Him deepens, you will grow spiritually and come to know Him in a more personal way. Listen to the Holy Spirit’s instructions, embrace His teachings, and live a life that pleases God.
