Benefits Of True Worship

By Solange Rodnez

John 4:24 “God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.”

Worship is the act of focusing on and responding to God. It is an expression of adoration, reverence, and gratitude to our Creator. True worship goes beyond rituals and routines-it is a deep, spiritual connection where our spirit, mind, and body align in praise and adoration. As we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, we engage in the truest form of worship.

Because of who God is, we must worship Him with a focused mind and an undivided heart. When we enter His presence in humility and obedience, He delights in us and manifests His glory upon us. In worship, peace replaces worry, strength overcomes weakness, and confidence emerges from uncertainty. There is an indescribable stillness that reassures us that God is always in control. His presence brings fulfillment, restoration, and deep refreshment to our souls.

Why should we worship God? Simply because He is God. He alone deserves all glory, honor, and praise. We are called to exalt Him, declaring to the world that He is the one true God. Worship is not based on what we want from Him but on who He is. Every time we enter His presence, our hearts should overflow with thanksgiving, remembering what Jesus did for us on Calvary. Because of His sacrifice, we now have free access to His kingdom and an intimate relationship with the Father.

God calls all creation to worship Him. The sun, moon, stars, oceans, and every living creature glorify Him in their own way. Psalm 150:6 declares, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” If all of creation honors Him, how much more should we? Worship should not be based on our emotions or circumstances. Whether in joy or sorrow, abundance or lack, good times or bad times, we must worship Him faithfully. His mercy, grace, and unfailing love should inspire us to give Him our best worship through prayer, fasting, studying His Word, and lifting our voices in praise.

True worship transforms the atmosphere like fresh water flowing through our souls. It refines and reshapes us into the likeness of Christ. Psalm 84:10 reminds us, “Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.” Spending time in worship draws us closer to God and allows us to experience His power, wisdom, and peace. Worship is not just an act-it is a lifestyle. It is an intentional commitment to glorify God in every aspect of life.

When we worship, we feel safe under His wings. We are surrounded by His love, compassion, and protection. Psalm 34:1 says, “I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.” Worship should never be conditional-it should be a daily expression of gratitude and devotion. Hebrews 12:28 reminds us, “Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.”

Let us worship the Lord as long as we have breath. Let us honor Him not just with our words but with our hearts, minds, and lives. He is worthy of all praise, for His love endures forever. It is always good to praise Him!
